Johanan bar Nappaha

Johanan bar Nappaha
(c.180-c.279)
   Palestinian amora. He was born in Sepphoris. He studied with Judah ha-Nasi, and was the brother-in-law of Simeon ben Lakish. He founded his own academy in Tiberias. His teachings constitute a major part of the Jerusalem Talmud.
